I don't typically start thinking of deer season until after July 4th. For some reason my interest is piqued now. Maybe because Bubba is starting to show interest in deer hunting. Oh well. Also, I've become more interested in AR 15 type rifles. This could be the start of something expensive! One of my best friends brought his by the house the other day and I fell in love with it. It's a DPMS that he built. It is very well equipped for our next civil outbreak, home defense, or zombie attack. Getting approval from Mrs. JW won't be easy. Ive been studying Psalm 12 this week and it's pretty powerful. Speaks to the condition of our society today.
Help, Lord, for the Godly are no more; the faithful have vanished from among men. Everyone lies to his neighbor; their flattering lips speak with deception. May the Lord cut off all flattering lips and every boastful tongue that says, "We will triumph with our tongues; we own our lips-who is our master?" "Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," says the Lord. "I will protect them from those who malign them." And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times. O Lord, you will keep us safe and protect us from such people forever. The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men. - Psalm 12:1-8

New Small Group
It's amazing how God can work things out in your life that you thought were impossible. A group of my "old friends" and I started a bible study a few weeks ago. It's so encouraging to see these men come to Christ. I should say it's AMAZING to see Christ draw them close to Himself! Our group isn't perfect. Not even close. It is frustrating sometimes when some of them can't make it. That's when I have to push back and remember what someone much wiser than me once said. It's not up to you to save people. It's your job to scatter the seed. The Holy Spirit will work out the details. Amen.

Last Couple of Weeks
So my neighbor (who is also a little gun crazy) turned me on to a new holster. He carries concealed as well and we were discussing carry rigs. He shows me what he wears, so I ordered one. Got it about a month ago and am completely blown away with it. It's the Comp-Tac Minotaur IWB (inside the waistband). It's made of high quality leather and once it's broken in, fits like a glove. I'm carrying the Glock 27 in 40 S&W and can't even tell it's on my side. It also allows you to tuck in your shirt, which is the exact reason I bought it. Stay tuned.

God Spoke
Ok, so there I am yesterday having a near meltdown with a decision that must be made. I mean a real life meltdown. Then the dog decides to relieve himself in the middle of the kitchen floor. My meltdown turned into a Hulk like fit of rage. I'm not talking about a break things and kick the dog type of thing. I mean an internal I need God right now moment. Thank God that he gave me the thought that I needed Him instead of breaking something or beating the dog. That may or may not have happened a few years ago. I wanted the full armor of God and I wanted it now! Only problem with that is that I had only heard of it a few times through radio preachers or some kids story. Suddenly, out of the blue, Ephesians 6 popped into my head. I don't know where it came from. It just popped into my head. I began reading Ephesians 6 and wondered what exactly it had to do with my tantrum. And then, there it was in verse 11. "Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes". My meltdown turned to sheer awe. My God is an awesome God. There is nothing I cannot do or overcome when I obey Him and submit to Him. All I could say is "Not my will, but Your Will".

The Joy of Shooting!
Last week I brought home a Glock 27. This is the subcompact 40 S&W. Took it to "the range" this past weekend and had a blast. No pun intended. Shot about 50 rounds through it. No problems at all. Fun to shoot. Shot the ole 9mm too. Still a nice shoot. My neighbor told me about an inside the waistband holster so I ordered one. Can't wait to get it so I can carry the new Glock.
